Introduce us to your blog, how did you get started?
Hiya, I’m Georgie and I blog at She Dreams. I started up a couple of years ago when I couldn’t find work during my uni summer holidays and I haven’t looked back since! I post a range of things from beauty to recipes to lifestyle, but my fashion content is the most heavily weighted at the minute.
How would you describe your style?
I try and keep my style as current as much as my bank balance will allow! I hate feeling like I’m dressed boringly so I always like to make an effort, even when I just go to work – if I’m dressed well then I instantly have a better outlook on the day, as shallow as that may sound. I’d like to think I dress somewhat sophisticatedly but I also keep it pretty chilled.
Where do you get your fashion inspiration?
Anywhere really. In terms of apps I would say Instagram comes in top, followed by Pinterest, but I’m not one for actively searching out styles to follow. My favourite way to get inspiration is to browse shops or online shopping, creating huge wishlists that I can’t afford but love to lust over anyway. I’m a big believer in discovering your own style so I don’t tend to buy into magazines and that sort of thing.
What is the best part of blogging for you?
Seeing it all come together! It can be a long process at times trying to take pictures before the light runs out when it’s not rainy or windy, as well as finding the time to sift through and edit the pictures then put it into a post with decent text. It doesn’t sound like much but working full time and then spending weekends with family/friends/boyfriend it often gets put on the back burner, so I LOVE it when I can finally press publish and see it go live.
What is your number 1 tip for making the most of the January sales?
I absolutely love browsing sales so I would say give yourself some time when you can just chill and have a proper good look! Make yourself a nice cuppa, put your feet up and prepare to peruse. Oh also, I always right click and open new up tabs when I’m online sale shopping – it just saves you going back and forth on the page and losing your place all the time.
What are your favourite pieces from the bonprix winter sale?
I love this white collar sixties dress in black – super simple but a really lovely design, I could see myself dressing it down with tights and flats to wear in the office.
This coat is so gorgeous in beige and absolutely perfect for keeping warm this winter. Really sleek and current design too.
If you had to share one piece of fashion advice, what would it be?
Do whatever feels good!
What are you most looking forward to in 2016?
Travelling as much as I can! I’ve recently booked flights to see a couple of my friends over in Australia so that’ll be an experience, and I’ve got a little list of places I’d like to go like Prague and Venice if I can get time off work to fit it all in. I’m also excited to keep developing my blog with regular posts, especially when it gets light and I have more opportunity to take some good outfit shots!
