Bloggers We Love – Madolyn Blackburn

We’d like to introduce Madolyn to the Bloggers We Love series. She’s the writer and photographer behind Madolyn Thinks, where she shares her thoughts on fashion and beauty. We spoke to her about her thoughts on blogging, what the future has in store and what her summer fashion favourites are. Read on to get to know Madolyn a little better and be sure to check out her blog for relaxed fashion inspiration.

Introduce us to Madolyn Thinks, how did you get started?

I started writing my blog once I finished university. I got into reading lots of blogs and missed being creative as well as writing so I thought that it would be fun to start my own blog. I had no idea that it was going to become such a huge hobby of mine – I can’t remember what I used to do in my spare time now!

How would you describe your style?

I think I have a fairly relaxed style based around simple, key items. I love to get dressed up on an evening, though.

Where do you get your fashion inspiration?

I get a lot of fashion inspiration from a range of bloggers, people I follow on Instagram and Pinterest. I follow a fair amount of fashion bloggers such as Lydia Rose from @fashioninflux who has a lovely relaxed yet sophisticated style and Kayleigh from @kayleighjcouture who has a very girly yet glamorous sense of style.

What is the best part of blogging for you?

I love the escapism I get from blogging. It is so nice to be in my own little bubble whilst I write, take pictures, edit photographs, plan, and organise everything.

Whose style are you currently obsessed with?

I think that Victoria from ‘In The Frow’ has an amazing fashion sense!

What is your must have item for this summer?

I have fallen in love with the off the shoulder trend, I think that they are so flattering for every body type and can be dressed up or down for a casual day-time look or dressy evening outfit.

What are your favourite pieces from the bonprix’s Holiday Shop?

I love this off the shoulder dress and I think that it would be amazing to wear throughout the summer months. I love that it could be worn during the day with tan flats and a tan shoulder bag, or on an evening with cork wedges and a nice clutch.

I think that this The Crochet Bib Party Dress would be a perfect dress to wear as a summer wedding guest or for a nice meal out. I love the modest cut and the flattering style of the dress.

And this amazing beach dress which I would take on holiday with me. I love the casual style but because of the black fabric it could easily be dressed up on an evening.

If you had to share one piece of fashion advice, what would it be?

Dress to suit your body type. Don’t wear something just because it is in fashion.

What’s in store for Madolyn Thinks in the future?

I hope to keep the momentum going with Madolyn Thinks and would love for it become more than just a hobby for me in the future.
