Introduce us to ‘Kitty Rambles A Lot’:
Hi! I'm Kitty, plus size blogger and fashion photographer. I'm 27, next June I'm marrying my beardy love Stu (eek!), and we have 3 cats, Stitch, Patches, and one-eyed Sinbad, and a Rottweiler-cross, Ashen, all rescues.
How did you get started?
I started my blog in 2014 after finally really deciding I was 'into' fashion. I'd spent a lot of time unhappy wearing a sort of uniform that was pretty plain and unassuming. I basically lived in plain black midi skirts with a plain t-shirt and a plain cardigan. Always predominantly black, always with full length leggings. I discovered a new lease of life and wanted to document it! I also discovered Nancy Whittington's blog Sugar Darling and felt so inspired to share my fashion too.
How would you describe your style?
I switch between girly with a rocky edge, and Stevie Nicks inspired flouncing! I love a skater dress with stompy boots, statement necklaces and crazy hair accessories.
Where do you get your fashion inspiration?
From all over! I was a teenage punk and it still sneaks into my style now, I like to joke that I'm the most colourful goth there is! I read a lot of other fashion blogs, and I think certain TV shows and movies really inspire me. The styling for American Horror Story: Coven just filled me with delight, and Alabama Worley from True Romance really appeals to my trashy chic side.
Is blogging your full-time job?
It isn't, I'm a jack of all trades, master of none! At least, none yet! Full time I work in transport administration, and then I'm also a photographer, hairdresser and blogger.
What is the best part of blogging for you?
The wonderful people I've met! I've met so many lovely bloggers online, and some in real life now too, and the plus size blogging scene is so supportive and full of love, it's amazing. It's been less great for my bank account!
Whose style are you currently obsessed with?
Nancy Whittington of Sugar Darling is always a favourite, she has really classic, beautiful style. Stephanie Yeboah of Nerd About Town always looks incredible and seeing her style encourages me to push myself more. In terms of celebrities I think Lupita Nyong'o always looks immaculate, Stevie Nicks is someone I always try to channel, and I think Devon Aoki is perfection. I'd love to take photos of her.
What is your number 1 tip for life?
Be whoever you want to be, don't tone yourself down for the sake of others, or worry about what they think.
What are your favourite pieces for Autumn from the bonprix range?
This flannel prairie dress is adorable, and easy to layer up to take your through winter as well. I love a good check print.
The waterfall style of this faux leather jacket is lush. I don't wear leather (I've been vegetarian for 15 years), and this would be a real autumn wardrobe staple.
These leggings with pleather knees would help add a rockier look to a basic dress, and paired with boots would be fab.
If you had to share one piece of fashion advice, what would it be?
Don't feel you have to justify what you wear. Wear whatever you want, if you like it, wear it!
What are you most looking forward to this year?
Is it too early to say Christmas yet? I love Christmas! Last Christmas I got engaged, and I love to spoil my family and see their happy faces.
