Blogger Challenge: Maternity Wear

Posted on Thursday 25th February 2016

It’s time for another of our fabulous blogger style challenges. This time we’re showing off the best of our maternity wear, so each of our bloggers are expecting mothers-to-be! While pregnant, it’s important to be able to balance comfort with style, showing off your baby bump when you can. Each blogger rocked their maternity range choices, but who wore it best?

Becky from The Mummy Adventure tackled a tricky matter for many parents-to-be: maternity jeans. Becky chose to pair them with our elegant white vest and some studded wrist straps.

“I couldn't resist trying some of the over-bump jeans. I tend to go for under-bump, as I have had problems before when my belly got a bit too big for the band, but I find the lower band means I am constantly pulling them up. These jeans seem to have plenty of stretch in the band and are really comfortable at the moment. I went for my usual size, despite reading that they come up small and I am glad I did as they fit well.”

Alex from Lamb & Bear instead went for a red V-neck tunic , which she expertly combined with the dark denim of our skinny jeans and a beautiful cream fur gilet.

“Once they are on, they look great and are quite comfy. I also love the belly band part. These are the only maternity jeans that have an adjustable waistband, meaning you can tighten the band to stay up around your bump. A really useful feature if you have a small waist like me.

The tunic top is really lovely. It’s so comfortable and super flattering. The colour is perfect for this time of year. We are still in winter shades but the red adds a bit of colour to my wardrobe as we approach spring. There is elastic under the bust which creates a lovely shape above your bump.”

Steph, from Mental Parentals and expecting her second child, opted for some simple black leggings to go with our Dotted Dress.

“I picked out the Maternity Winter Leggings as leggings have been an essential in my wardrobe during pregnancy. They come up over the bump, which I really like as I find it provides much more comfort than under-bump styles. The leggings are lined with a fleecy fabric which makes them perfect for this cold snap of weather that we seem to be experiencing at the moment.”

Natalie writes at Little Jam Pot Life and chose to style our Maternity Parka Jacket, which is perfect for carrying around anything you need while on the go.

“For me, though, the ultimate 'no-brainer' (as it's still pretty chilly each morning – particularly on the school run) was......yes, you guessed it, this lovely looking parka coat. My current parka is navy, so for me I wanted to choose a shade which brightened up my mornings with a more vibrant colour & I opted for the scarlet red.

“I am almost 34 weeks pregnant now and this coat (which I have not taken off all week) has been such a hit. Given that we're now back into the swing of school runs each morning it’s just helping me to embrace the comfort in these late stages.”
